Valkyrie Advance is a week-long engineering bootcamp in the city of Cupertino, California, intended for students graduating from 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Over the course of a week, students enrolled in Advance will learn vital skills in programming, mechanical engineering, and design under the instruction of our instructors, each with 2+ years of experience in competitive robotics and engineering. Over the course of the week, students will join together into teams of two to three to create robots to match our challenge, and by the end will optimize their designs through competitions with other groups. Currently, three weeks are available for signup: June 17-June 21, June 24-28, and July 1-6. Camp hours run from 8AM to 3PM, with options for both late pickup (up to 5PM) and both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meal plans over the course of the week.
Valkyrie Advance will be located at 21265 Stevens Creek Blvd, Suite #520, Cupertino CA, near the old location of Bluelight Cinemas. Early bird signups, made before the end of the month of March, can register for the reduced price of $500; signups past that point be at the normal price of $600.Why Us
Our unique curriculum and program structure is built by a staff with over twenty years of combined robotics experiences.
Advance will benefit students of all levels of prior knowledge, and our guaranteed 8:1 student:teacher ratio ensures that each student will have an experience customized to their needs.
Though Advance is intended for students with limited prior experience in robotics or engineering, we gladly welcome participants of all skill levels.
Through our use of the Vex IQ Robotics platform, we give students practical experience with a widely-used system used at all levels of competitive robotics.
Advance doesn't just build a foundation for your student's future career; we seek to give them real skills that they'll find useful for years to come.
Advance, unlike any other engineering camp in the area, brings together both professional skills and deep experience in K-12 engineering education to make the camp the most it can be. Our curriculum is designed by volunteers with experience ranging from Mechanical Engineering firms such as West Coast Products to software development at companies like Google and Uber.
By connecting students and professionals within our organization, we seek to do the same for your students, giving them an opportunity to get a head start on learning engineering. Attending Advance will prepare your student for more than just their next year of school — it'll build a foundation for years to come, whether they'll be in high-school, competitive robotics, or college and beyond.
